Pick the right box.
First things first: you need the right box. Ideally, you want to pick a box that is just a little bigger than the item you are shipping. A fragile item can break due to poor handling, but it can also get damaged because it is moving around in the box. And the best way to keep your item from moving around is to have as little extra space as possible.
Use enough packing material.
Once you’ve found the best box, the next step is to wrap and protect the item. There are many materials that are good for packing fragile items. Newspaper and bubble wrap are what you usually reach for, but there are plenty of alternatives. Double-boxing is another effective method for packing your item securely. If you are packing more than one item in the same box, be sure to wrap them separately so they don’t knock together in transit.
